The engine nozzles and aft fuselage of the J-20 aren't stealthy at all, yes. But that could simply mean that the plane is simply a technology demonstrator or a very early prototype. Some people think that the J-20 is superior to the F-22. Others believe that the J-20 is a threat because China will end up making thousands of these, versus a much smaller number of F-22s.

The problem with the comparison of the J-20 and the F-22 is that the F-22 is operational and the J-20 is a prototype. So any answer that is plausible is just that - plausible. The true test will come down the road when and if the two aircraft are evenly matched with comparably equal pilots in some sort of Red Flag type exercise. To my knowledge no one has seen the J-20 even taxi, much less fly. All of the answers become pure speculation. Until some genius develops a 'cloaking device' a la the Romulans in Star Trek, there will be point-counterpoint in aircraft design and development. Given the right circumstances, any fighter can bag any other fighter. All are potential threats. No one is ever completely safe or bullet proof.

We'll never know. The chance of F22 vs J20 in a real war is close to zero.
